Utalia, the Plenty

The closing wound. The beating heart. Utalia is the soothing melody in the universe, the tending hand in a world fraught with danger. Their Plenty deals with the elimination of all pain, disease--any sort of suffering. They cannot bear to see mortals suffer, and their voice rings out wherever there is conflict throughout the universe.

Utalia & Mortals

Utalia appears among mortals quite frequently compared to most Numen, usually as an answer to fervent prayers for only brief moments at a time. As such, they are one of the most commonly worshipped Numen among common laymen throughout the cosmos.

Lancers are not often blessed by Utalia due to the violent nature of their job, however, Utalia regularly blesses a select few lancers. Lancers who follow Utalia are usually extremely merciful and work for humanitarian causes rather than political or corporate ones.

There are quite a few harbingers of Utalia throughout the cosmos, working as great healers and mediators within conflicts. Most are not Lancers themselves, and work as neutral parties in times of war.

Follower Factions

The Verdant Hand is one of the most respected organizations throughout the cosmos. They are fervent followers of Utalia and provide humanitarian aid, particularly throughout the cosmic frontier. They serve as facilitators of growth throughout the frontier through providing medical service and infrastructural aid. The Hand is funded by support from nearly every major political faction in the cosmos, contributing to their non-alignment in cosmic affairs. During the Synthesis War they worked tirelessly to save civilian populations caught in the crossfire, dramatically decreasing the death toll of the war.

Periphala is the source of most medical knowledge in the cosmos. Originally a part of the the Erudition Collective, Periphala abandoned their faith in Rend to heal the wounds of all of humanity. They are responsible for most advancements in cloning technology that make death a non-obstacle for humanity (for those that can afford it). Most diseases have been eradicated by their work, with new pathogens only arising due to exploration on new systems. While they are primarily a research group, their employees provide medical services to a variety of governments and corporations across the cosmos. This has made Periphala one of the richest corporations in the universe, though, most of what their wealth goes toward has remained in mystery.

The Anthropologic Horticulture Collective (AHS) is an organization seeped in mystery. Originally considered a baseless conspiracy for the majority of the Synthesis War, the AHS’ existence was confirmed in the twilight of the conflict. Formed by former Verdant Hand operatives, AHS is a research group devoted to the human form, with the end goal of creating an unshakable, immortal body. The purpose of their research is currently unknown, and various conspiracy theories have emerged that claim to know their true purpose—ranging from organ harvesting to creating a new interastral order. Regardless of their intent, their research has been highly criticized under the guise that their work falls too close to the doctrine of the Propagation. Nonetheless, very little is known about the organization—such as its source of funding, its extent, its members, etc.—besides baseless speculation.
