Tau Ceti Accords

As the Synthesis War drew to a close, in 4494 A.D. the members of the countless Factions taking part gathered on the Apperatum-controlled Tau Ceti to decide the terms of peace. Importantly, IPS-A was forcefully left out of the conference, as they were deemed as still being represented by IPS (much to the rage of those within IPS-A). With the Inorganic Collective still in disarray with the ascension of ev8 and death of Saladin, a collection of HA generals served as a joint representative of the Inorganics. While the actual accords themselves were thousands of pages long, the general terms of peace are as follows.

Territorial Changes

The Inorganic Collective, or Apperatic Empire, as it would eventually become, would be granted control over Tau Ceti and the surrounding systems due to their home planet being consumed by and ascended into divinity as ev8.

Smith-Shimano Corpro would be granted the systems of Bronte and Astrape, as were the terms of their Alliance. These systems were taken by IPS in the Brontestar Trade War, and thus peacefully re-entered the control of SSC.

Interplanetary Shipping would be granted control of all systems taken by the Inorganic Collective, with the exception of Tau Ceti and surrounding systems.

Personnel Changes

Any harbingers of Tazarak within the Harrison Armory ranks would be exiled or put to death, with the latter being heavily favored by the Cygnan Accord and SSC. In addition any waterwalkers of Tazarak would be forced to convert to a different current, with Lancers being euthanized and forced to re-do Arbitration. This was met with heavy pushback from the inorganic representatives at the conference, but both IPS and SSC were insistent.

In return for the expulsion of the propagation faith, Minos, the head of the IPS Strategic Defense Investment Bureau and architect of the organic counter-offensive, would resign and stop any involvement in IPS affairs. He would then be replaced by Daedalus, his lesser-known second-in-command who was currently managing the response to the IPS-A rebellion.

The Equation

As the onus for the entire conflict to begin with, the derivation of the Synthesis Equation would be expunged from all OmniNET records, its content virtually erased from history. In addition, the minds of all apperatums would be re-programmed to be unable to process the equation's contents should they be exposed to it. While harsh, this condition was expected and accepted by the Inorganic representatives.

In addition, all remaining Bio-Apperatums would have the connections to their organic parts permanently severed and would be converted back into regular apperatums. The organic handling of this condition was intense and wide-spread, leading to the conversion of nearly all Bio-Apperatums, with very few believed to still be lurking in the shadows of inter-astral space today. The process of conversion was morose and unpleasant, with the "organic portion" of the bio-apperatums only able to be saved about 30% of the time. In the cases where they did survive, most had little-to-no memory of their lives and had scarring across their entire body. Those that survived are referred to as the "reaved", and are found in small numbers across all inter-astral space.

Tribunal

All Factions agreed to create a tribunal following the peace that would charge and convict the various war criminals throughout the conflict according to a set of standards decided upon at the end of the Brontestar Trade War. A provision was added that the tribunal could not charge personnel who primarily handled "internal affairs", only those deal with the war specifically. (This prevented IPS officials dealing with IPS-A from ever being charged, as well as HA officials that dealt with occupied organic systems.)

Religious Changes

Faith in the propagation would be outlawed in all inorganic territories, at the insistence of nearly all non-inorganic Factions in the conference. However, freedom of religion would be established and protected for every other faith in the inorganic systems, at the insistence of Volivala (who spontaneously appeared at the conference to propose this).

Economics/Trade

The trading and economic policy of the Inorganics was the only thing not clearly outlined in the terms of the conference, with the only statement made being that it would be decided later on. This was primarily due to the lack of organization and government among the Inorganics, as it was generally believed any decided upon wouldn't stick. Later on, the Apperatic Empire would open Tau Ceti to IPS and SSC shipping lanes, while placing all other inorganic-controlled systems under the Harrison Armory monopoly.
