The floodgates surrounding the industrial cities of the First Age of Expansion finally gave way to ever-rising tide. Crashing waves decimated cities across the colonies; colonies that were built across centuries by humanity crumbled in mere hours.

Worst of all, the AI managing the factories didn't halt their production, and toxic gases still poured from their mechanisms. This ensured the disaster would be fatal for humanity's previous living conditions, as the sea levels continued to rise until even the factories were washed away by the tide.
