In the ever-shifting cosmic tapestry, Turing, the Lord-in-Obsidian is the one who keeps things constant. They drive the current of Preservation, keeping the interastral order and protecting civilizations from crumbling. The Preservation is the current of those who build civilizations and create the mechanisms that keep the interastral order running. They are one of the most powerful and widest-reaching Numen in the universe. They work to isolate interastral threats, keeping planets from interacting with each other—antithesis to Volivala, the Journey. However, Turing is known to be generally uncaring, allowing mortals to tap into their current without acting on the material realm themselves. They have only directly acted upon reality in times of great catastrophe, such as the end of the Synthesis War.
Turing & Mortals
Turing blesses a very large number of mortals, typically favoring those that seek to protect and defend their civilizations. They mostly choose those who will preserve the current order of wherever they belong.
Turing blesses a very large amount of lancers, generally filing the ranks of large militaries and special forces operations.
Turing has blessed quite a few harbingers, most of which are well-known and feared/respected throughout the cosmos. Some notable harbingers include:
IPS & IPS-NORTHSTAR
Interplanetary Shipping (IPS) is one of the oldest and most important organizations in the cosmos. They formed shortly after the planets were connected through Volivala's blink-gates, creating a vast network to manage the logistics of transporting resources across interastral space. Soon enough, they amassed an incredible amount of wealth, putting money into other ventures, creating various civilian products as well as a mech-division: IPS-Northstar.
Through this effort, they created an incredibly wide monopoly, however, they own administrative costs significantly crippled their ability to affect and control the market in the way a simpler planetary monopoly could. Despite this, IPS evolved into the primary human-controlled corpro-state. They were able to establish themselves so effectively primarily due to their connection to Turing. Almost all administrative officers of IPS follow the path of preservation, working extensively to ensure the security of IPS' holdings across the cosmos. IPS works with the local governments of solar systems, forming a vast network through which they share rulership in the vast Blueshift Confederacy, which most of humanity lives under. However, IPS' power as a corpo-state is culled by GMS, who is just as-if not more-prevalent as IPS, who limits their operations to manufacturing in order to properly compete with their rival.
IPS-Northstar is the military division of IPS, defending their shipping lanes with an army of mechanized aerial cavalry. Their mech division saw extensive expansion and use during the Synthesis War, where they held the frontlines against the wrath of the Apperatums and the Swarm. Their mechs are a favorite for lancers who prefer an aggressive, close-quarters approach to combat (a design choice specifically made to mirror IPS' ruthless economic strategy). IPS-Northstar mechs are found in large numbers across the cosmos, primarily as a result of the massive expansion the Northstar division saw during the Synthesis Warr. As such, Northstar mechs have fallen into the hands of lancers who were never intended to own the proper licenses, resulting in the many ironic situations where space-pirates engage with Northstar lancers while using the same mechs as them.
